7: Cape Winelands
South African New World Wine is celebrated throughout the world and this is the heartland from where it is produced. You can get tours of the various vineyards and even sample some of the produce.
8: The Cradle of Humanity
Though early humans could have been throughout the continent, the conditions found in the caves of The Cradle of Humanity site are perfect for preserving the remains left over. Many fossils have been, and still are, found at this site.
9: Drakensberg Mountains
This mountain range located in the east of the country offer an excellent opportunity to either admire the scenic beauty or crack out the hiking boots and hit one of the many trails open to exploration.
10: Soweto
A very important historical area especially from a political aspect during the Apartheid era. The area first came to prominence during the gold rush of 1886.
